Saw another banner yesterday that I am sure looked really nice in the shop, but was less than effective as deployed. I was as close to the banner as possible, about 75-80 feet away. I could read the first line, but not the other four lines of text. The banner must have been 4×20, but for all practical purposes, it could have been 1×20. The other lines of text ranged in size from about 1 inch to 4 inches in height.
The general rule of thumb is 1 inch for every 10 feet of viewing distance. Each line of text should have been AT LEAST 8 inches high. Try not to include too much information. Stick to what matters most.
The top banner is what I saw, the bottom banner is what I would do. You tell me, which is easier to read?
